Useful Information About Tonik Health Insurance

Tonik Health Insurance is designed especially for healthy young adults. While it is generally marketed towards children, college students, and recent graduates, anyone under the age of 65 can actually apply for coverage with a Tonik Health Insurance plan.

Since the majority of consumers choosing Tonik Health Insurance plans are young and in good health, their healthcare needs will be fewer and less serious, resulting in less expensive healthcare plan premiums.

Tonik Health Insurance is backed by Anthem Blue Cross & Blue Shield and is currently available to customers in six states: California, Colorado, Connecticut, Georgia, Nevada, and New Hampshire.

An Overview of Tonik Health Insurance Health Plans

All of the Tonik Health Insurance plans are designed with young, healthy adults in mind. Most policyholders are between the ages of 19 and 29. Tonik Health plans have monthly premiums which can range from $73 to $203, depending on the type of policy chosen. The premium amounts are determined by certain factors, such as age, medical history, and where the policyholder lives.

The Thrill Seeker plan, aka 5000, allows customers 4 visits to their physician annually, along with a $5,000 annual deductible and a $20 per visit copayment.

The Part-Time Daredevil Plan, aka 3000, provides members 4 visits to the doctor per year, plus a $3,000 annual deductible and a $30 per visit copayment.

Tonik Health offers consumers the Calculated Risk plan, aka 1500, which allows policyholders unlimited visits to the physician throughout the year and has an annual deductible of $1,500 and a per-visit copayment of $40.

None of the health care plans offered by Tonik cover maternity care. If you are planning to start a family in the near future, it might be wise to consider another health care provider that does offer maternity care coverage.

As with most health insurance plans offered by other carriers, copayments for office visits, emergency room visits and prescription drugs do not apply toward the annual deductible amount or the out-of-pocket maximum under Tonik Health plans.
