An Overview of SelectHealth Health Plans
SelectHealth offers consumers a wide array of health insurance packages. Many of these plans are designed for individuals or families who do not have access to group health insurance coverage through an employer or who need an additional type of coverage.
SelectHealth Health Plans include HMO (Health Maintenance Organization) Plus plans and Health Savings Account (HSA) plans which are combined with High Deductible Health Plans (HDHP). Individuals can choose from a SelectHealth Plan which offers a point-of-service option, meaning that members can use both in-network and out-of-network healthcare professionals for their medical treatment and services.
SelectHealth Plan members have convenient access to the SelectValue network. This network consists of more than 19 affiliated hospitals and over 1,100 participating physicians. SelectHealth also offers its policyholders access to the SelectMed network, which includes 28 associated hospitals and more than 3,000 physicians. For customers choosing the SelectCare network, more than 3,700 physicians and 34 hospitals are available to provide medical services and treatment.
Customers have a choice of the HMO/Plus plan or the HealthSave plan. The HMO/Plus plan has annual deductibles starting as low as $250. Members can choose from several different coinsurance and copayment options. Standard benefits are fully covered, including immunizations. Annual deductibles with the HealthSave plan vary between $1,500 for an individual to $3,000 for families. The HealthSave plan is a high deductible health plan combined with a Health Savings Account. The member contributes to a tax-advantaged HSA and those funds are used throughout the year to pay for qualified medical treatment and services. Any funds remaining in the account at the end of the year generally roll over for use the following year.
